WHAT DOES A TECHNICAL WRITER DO?
As a Technical Writer at SITEC Consulting, you will dive into projects assigned through Jira, collaborating with a pool of writers to tackle assignments effectively. Your role will involve close cooperation with developers to guarantee a thorough grasp and accurate interpretation of engineering drawings. This foundational understanding will set the stage for your meticulous technical writing process, ensuring that all documentation is precise and aligned with project requirements. To excel in this role at SITEC Consulting, proficiency in essential tools like MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Visio is crucial. Bachelor's degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional TW experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Six (6) years' experience as a TW in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Top Secret Clearance SCI with poly is required. Your ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately will be paramount in crafting detailed technical documentation, user manuals, and professional reports. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential to ensure that all materials are clear, concise, and aligned with project specifications. A proactive attitude, poise with grammar and its application and interpretation when "technical talk" is used during meetings and planning sessions, a knack for problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence will set you up for success in this dynamic environment. Orientation and situational awareness of an IT environment and the differentiating factors/technical terms used when building the next generation IT services.
