Job Title: System Administrator Location: Annapolis Junction, MD or Fairfax, VA Company: Zachary Piper Solutions Duration: 4 years left on contract Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph Full Job Description: Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a System Administrator to join a growing team in support of a government agency. This position will be fully onsite, located in either Annapolis Junction, MD or Fairfax, VA. Responsibilities/Overview: Employ best practices when implementing security requirements within an information system including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques
Work directly with programs to ensure Information Technology (IT) infrastructure solutions meet the program requirements and schedules in a lab environment
Provide comprehensive end-to-end computing support in closed environments from desktops to servers
Provide broad range of systems and application support
Prepare release planning for software and hardware across the system, including patch management
Administer user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements
Develop, design, integrate and maintain all computer applications
Evaluate complex system's production readiness and supportability
Perform the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations
Integrate security solutions into information systems
Protect classified and proprietary information
Required Qualifications: Active Full Scope Clearance, preferably with the MD Customer.
Experience with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Server , Windows 10, 20H2)
Experience troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
Experience with active directory (AD) to include applying domain group policies
Experience with a VMware virtual network environment.
Experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware
Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Unix / Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/Oracle) server/workstation
Develop PowerShell scripts to enable consistent, high-quality integration of hardware assets
Experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
Experience in Agile Methodologies
Experience evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problems and resolution
Experience with System Backups, Network switch configuration,
Experience with upgrades and patches for operating systems and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software
