ABOUT Black Eagle Defense is a Maryland-based small business that provides Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and related Consulting Services to the public sector. DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Software Engineer V role you will design, develop, maintain, enhance and document software systems. Depending upon the SWE's role, skill level and system complexity, the SWE may perform all or some subset of these functions. At the highest levels the SWE may work independently or in a lead technical role, developing system architecture and requirements, defining processes and methodologies, resolving complex technical issues or research problems, and may have responsibility for directing the software activities of a large program. SWE 5 shall demonstrate all lower level skills plus perform system or sub-system level integration testing. Conduct a peer review of the project's software design and code. Develop and deliver technical presentations to stakeholders. Develop estimate of resources and schedule required to implement system/component level software. Perform an analysis of alternatives and recommend the application of appropriate technologies that meet system performance or functional requirements. Be highly motivated and willing to learn new development as well as a good team player. SKILLS SWE roles geared toward developers with programming languages. Proficient in: • Java
• Python
• etc.
Experience with: • SW packaging
• Container vs. Operating Systems
• Writing new code for new systems QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's degree is required for this position in a related field of study, plus fifteen (15) years of professional experience or a Master's degree and thirteen (13) years of experience is acceptable. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Frontend and Backend experience with: Agile framework (Sprint, JIRA)

Java, JavaScript (strong background fundamentals) as well as basic HTML and CSS

Spring/Springboot
Docker, Kubernetes, KAFKA
POSTGRESSQL, ORACLEDB
OPENSHIFT
Identity and access management technology such as KEYCLOAK, SPOCK/GROOVY
