Job description

Job Title: Personnel Security Specialist Location(s): Annapolis Junction, MD Hours: Regular Full-Time Clearance Requirements: This position requires a current and active TS/ SCI clearance at the time of application. What you will be doing: Receive and respond to requests for SCI eligibility, recertification, and special purpose/interim SCI accesses, and requests involving Presidential Support Duties, Yankee White (YW) insuring validity of the requests. Process SCI eligibility determinations, special purpose access, and compelling need actions with Central Adjudication Facilities (CAF) prior to indoctrination. Process Yankee White packages including pre-screen documents, credit reports and other required documentation for review and submittal to YW approval authorities. Review and act upon authorities to indoctrinate SCI personnel, including conducting pre-screening interviews and indoctrination briefings. Send and receive SCI visit requests and code badges for SCIF access. Ensure all assigned personnel meet/maintain the appropriate security clearance requirements in accordance with ICD 705. Verify and act on requests for temporary and annual SCI courier authorizations and issue those certifications. Update and query required information systems and maintains required hard copy files to perform assigned duties. Prepare and execute required periodic reporting and or audits/reviews in accordance with applicable directives, regulations, and instructions. Provide continuous training and guidance in all areas of SCI security; including but not limited to, local procedures, Security Awareness, handling/safeguarding/marking classified material/information, foreign travel requirements, entry procedures, escort procedures, document control procedures, security incident/violation reporting procedures, and classification review/guidance. Update personnel security responsibilities for Special Security Representatives (SSR) and ensure SSRs are appropriately appointed and trained. Analyze and assess issues with SCI personnel security and Presidential Support duties and propose solutions that meet standards set by applicable regulations, directives, and instructions. Maintain liaison with adjudicating agencies to expedite adjudication process. Provide status reports for personnel awaiting SCI eligibility and YW. Position Requirements Minimum Requirements: Experience: Minimum of four (4) years' experience in the DoD SCI Program. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in the areas of personnel security, the Joint Personnel Accountability System (JPAS), and have excellent communicative and interpersonal skills. Why JASINT?
