Apply in 60 seconds at Summary: SYSTOLIC is seeking a Java Software Engineer to help build out a web application reviewing and reporting on critical mission activities. Qualifications & Compensation: Candidates should have between 7-13 years of experience and will receive up to $298,000/year in compensation Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline OR four additional years' software engineering experience. Proficiency in Java 11 programming language and related technologies (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data). Experience with front-end development using Angular (version 15 preferred). Familiarity with database technologies, particularly MongoDB (version 4.4+). Working knowledge of Apache Tomcat for deploying web applications. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with version control systems such as Git/GitLab. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile development environment. Job Description: Writes clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Java 11, Spring Boot, and other relevant technologies. This involves implementing backend logic, RESTful APIs, and integrating with MongoDB for data persistence. Works with the frontend using Angular 15 to implement user interfaces, ensuring responsiveness, accessibility, and a seamless user experience. Writes unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability and quality of the software. This includes both automated testing (Gitlab CI/CD) and manual testing as necessary. Deploys the web application to Apache Tomcat servers in Linux environments, configuring server settings, and ensuring smooth deployment processes. Understands docker and kubernetes to help with project transition to AWS. Identifies and resolves technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks through thorough debugging and problem-solving techniques. Participates in code reviews to provide feedback on peers' code and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines. Collaborates with customers and stakeholders to understand their requirements and refine them into actionable user stories and features. Contributes to the design and architecture of the web application, including defining the overall system structure, component interactions, and data models.
