Your professional development is key to us. Great salary and full benefits? DevOps Systems Engineer Summary: Prophasys is seeking a DevOps Systems Engineer to work within the Fort Meade, MD area. They will work with Project Managers, Test Engineers, and HPC System Architects as a joint team to understand customer needs and gather, develop, and refine high-level requirements for new HPC capabilities, development activities, and software acquisitions. As capabilities are designed, developed, and delivered, the DevOps Systems Engineer will be a critical team member, providing stewardship of customer requirements, and along with Project Managers ensure that software activities are consistent with customer requirements and address all appropriate risks. Active participation in conception, design, engineering, development, test, and delivery activities will be crucial to the successful effort. This position may require occasional travel. Other responsibilities include: To develop these solutions, relevant requirements, existing capabilities and gaps, and solutions must be identified. From this information, the team will collaboratively identify and develop an implementation plan followed by the development of the solutions leveraging an Agile Development methodology;
Conduct data analysis on large datasets using modern data science principles, tools and techniques;
Assist in refining and documenting the detailed requirements and performance specifications for end-to-end services;
As requested, perform additional functional analysis under the guidance of Government subject matter experts to describe the services;
Team with Government POC to formulate integrated schedule for component and services development; continually revisit schedule and technical progress relative to plan;
Develop test and validation plans, ensure traceability to requirements;
Guide the development of Agile practices for the benefit of the practitioners;
Prototype, develop and sustain streaming analytic system software;
Prototype, develop and sustain machine learning analytic system software;
Prototype, develop and sustain graph analytic system software;
Develop and sustain data analytic middleware components;
Develop and sustain file system and storage components;
• Develop and enhance NIFI processors as needed;
• Drives the agile ceremonies of Sprint Kickoff, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives;
• Defining the project and software development processes for the organization. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field;
2-10 years of experience in Systems Engineering;
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required;
Strong organization, time management skills, and reporting skills;
Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
Understanding of traditional software development tasks (SCRUM/AGILE);
Basic understanding/entry level experience in C++/Java/Python or other traditional development languages;
Exposure to basic Agency technologies (Accumulo, NiFi, etc.);
Basic understanding of file storage, databases, and NoSQL technologies;
Exposure to configuration management, including versioning and automated build tools;
Basic understanding of hardware requirements and classes of computing;
Deep understanding of Agency's core mission and some basic architectural components that underlie its analytic mission. Desired Skills:
Product lifecycle management experience;
System and software testing experience, including capacity planning and white/black box testing;
Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture basics, including API development and documentation;
Medium to strong writer with experience documenting process and procedures;
Experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Office, MS Project; Understand the benefits and uses for HPC technologies (MPI, etc.) and system types (SMP, MPP, etc);
Exposure to computational accelerators such as FPGAs and GPUs;
