Job description

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring items or services are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered upon agreed terms and conditions, seeking maximum value for the company including agreed time and cost. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality purchasing services on a day-to-day basis according to defined procedures, respecting quantity, quality and timing. This person ensures quality of services provided and contributes to improvement and knowledge management of purchasing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for purchase order (PO) processing and maintenance.
  • Support the user defining purchase requests when needed.
  • Define the correct buying channel for each request; choose the best supplier in terms of price, quality and lead time.
  • Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all orders, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems, and active management/closure of Purchase Orders.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers such as lead times, price, etc
  • Manage changes to purchase orders (expedites/deferrals/cancellations) as required based on changes in demand requirements.
  • Work with accounts payable team and expeditors to identify and resolve any invoice issues.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Category Procurement Leader.
  • Perform knowledge management.
  • Perform problem solving for noncomplex issues with operations users.
  • Trigger catalog and buying guide updates when required.
  • Propose documentation changes and process improvements when required.
  • Track deviations and raise nonconformances in QUEST.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Use all required procurement tools when required or mandated by process (Ariba, ASL, QUEST).


Minimum Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. Preferred degree in Engineering OR Supply Chain
  • 2-3 years of experience in Engineering/Manufacturing/Supply Chain
  • Experience with SAP/Ariba preferred
  • Candidate must have strong data analytics skills (e.g, excel, PowerBI), sound time management and organizational Skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Purchasing/Procure-to-Pay methodologies & inter-personal skills to develop supplier relationships.
  • Candidate must be able to able to work and reside in the US without US visa sponsorship now or in future
