Job description

Duties Execute security programs i.e. Antiterrorism, Physical Security, Operations Security, Law Enforcement, Critical Infrastructure, Personnel Security. Develop plans of action to mitigate protection deficiencies identified while collaborating with leadership to discuss security options. Ensure personnel that require clearances are vetted and reinvestigated as appropriate Ensure the district is protecting sensitive information in IAW Army Regulation. Train the workforce on identifying, marking, and protecting sensitive information. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random drug testing. This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment. Must complete AT/FP Level II training at an accredited USAMPS course within 12 months. Must complete an IOSS approved OPSEC Level II Program Analysis and Level III Program Management course within 12 months. Must attend and complete the USAMPS Conventional Physical Security/Crime Prevention Course to obtain certification needed for a Physical Security Inspectors (PSI) credential. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15 of the time. Specialized Experience Requirement for the GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting security assessments at field installations to ensure security requirements are being implemented; conducting security vulnerability risk assessments; investigating reports of criminal activity and personnel wrongdoing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Finance, or Business Analytics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience Requirement for the GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and applying operational requirements in multiple Security Programs; Analyzing security problems or deficiencies to establish policies and procedures; briefing officials on security vulnerabilities and threats. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-12 position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) Position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade GS-09 for the GS-11 and GS-11 for the GS 12 (or equivalent).
