Job description

Beacon is currently hiring LPNs for our Hospital in New Orleans East .

Beacon Behavioral Support Services is one of the largest and most established behavioral health programs in Louisiana. For 25 years, Beacon employs caring staff at locations across southeast Louisiana: Baton Rouge, Metairie, Slidell, Hammond, Bogalusa, Bunkie, Opelousas, and Lutcher. We currently provide inpatient programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that provide therapy to those struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders. Over the past 2 years, Beacon has expanded its service line to partner with Psychiatric Private Practices in TX, AR, MS, FL, PA, PGF.

To fulfill this mission, Beacon Behavioral Hospital seeks dedicated, compassionate, and professional staff in a variety of roles within behavioral health services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Must have Practical Nurse Licensure in the state of operation.
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, experience in behavioral health care preferred.
Certification in Basic Life Support required. Will Provide at company's cost if needed.
Certification in non-violent crisis intervention. Will Provide at company's cost if needed.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Participates in the planning, coordinating and documenting total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Accurately reports and records the patient's condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
Prepares clinical/progress notes daily and incorporates into the clinical record weekly, and documents monthly recertification/Master Treatment Plan Updates in coordination with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Initiates and sustains the implementation of all physician orders.
Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes.
Participates in case conferences, in-services, and other programs and meetings as needed.
Facilitates nursing psych-education groups as needed. Assures complete and timely documentation of each group facilitated.
Complete Nursing Health Screen for every new admission. Communicate any issues/concerns with physician.
Participates in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care in coordination with other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Performs other duties and special projects as required.
