Job description

LHH is seeking a litigation legal assistant with insurance defense experience interested in a full-time, contract to hire opportunity with a well-respected firm in New Orleans, LA? You will be responsible for drafting, formatting, and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, etc.; maintaining department records, both physically and electronically; calendaring; case management; all aspects of discovery; coordinating court dates and appearances; trial prep; deposition prep; scheduling meetings with witnesses and other involved parties; legal research; document production; and other tasks as assigned. If you are a skilled and efficient insurance defense paralegal who exhibits high attention to detail and who remains calm under pressure, this is the role for you!

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience

  • Strong computer proficiency, especially with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat

  • Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with a helpful, no-job-too-small mindset

Pay: $25-27/hr.
