AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking an APP to provide comprehensive care, support, and education to patients and their families through all aspects of their neurosurgical care process. The APP will participate as a key member of the Spine and Neurosurgery team to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient. We are looking for someone who utilizes a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to the patient/family's care, serving as an expert practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher in the inpatient, operative, and outpatient settings.

This APP will split their time - 50% at the hospital, 50% in clinic.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts rounding on patients and supports physicians with patients in clinic.
  • Functions as Surgical Assist for Neurosurgical, Cranial, and Spine procedures.
  • Performs clinical examinations as necessary for outpatients/inpatients, including seeing new patients, consults, and established patients.
  • Orders and interprets test results.
  • Maintains responsibility for job performance specifications and assumes personal accountability for departmental mission, organizational mission, and the core values of AdventHealth.
  • Functions as a resource person for individuals with questions regarding their diagnosis or treatment and coordinates the multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Writes orders, prescriptions, and discharge summaries.
  • Works in collaboration with other APPs and physicians using established and approved protocols as required by institutional policy.
  • Maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
  • Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment, and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective delivery of patient care.
  • 1/6 call coverage.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree (Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program)
  • 1-2 years of surgical experience preferred

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Certification by N.C.C.P.A.
  • Active physician assistant license by the state of Colorado
