Family & Children's Place/Greater Louisville Head Start is looking to hire full-time HOME VISITORS to provide family services to eligible parents, infants, toddlers and their families through a series of weekly home visits and scheduled socialization activities. A retention bonus of $300 paid in increments through the first year. If you have language skills, such as Spanish, you receive a language quarterly stipend of $1000 as well. ABOUT HEAD START Head Start programs prepare America's most vulnerable young children to succeed in school and in life beyond school. To achieve this, Head Start programs deliver services to children and families in core areas of early learning, health, and family well-being while engaging parents as partners every step of the way. Head Start encompasses Head Start preschool programs, which primarily serve 3- and 4-year-old children, and Early Head Start programs for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women. Head Start services are delivered nationwide through 1,600 agencies which tailor the federal program to the local needs of families in their service area. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOME VISITOR This position will provide early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to eligible parents, infants, toddlers and their families through a series of weekly home visits and scheduled socialization activities. Each EHS home visitor will design, plan and carry out developmentally appropriate experiences that meet all component areas of Head Start, school readiness goals as well as the individual needs of the child. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN EARLY HEAD START HOME VISITOR Associate's degree in child development, education, social sciences or related field, or willing to obtain CDA. At least 2 years' experience working with children and families in a human service setting. Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Are you highly organized and attentive to detail? Can you effectively prioritize tasks while demonstrating good time management? Are you able to maintain a friendly and professional attitude? WORK SCHEDULE FOR A HOME VISITOR This full-time family services/educator position works a somewhat flexible schedule that is usually based on parent availability. There are department activities however that require employees' participation at specified times.
