5 Positions on 2nd Shift

$19.75 + $1.50 Shift Premium to start with increase every 6 months with maximum of $25.75 in 48 months.

I. General Summary: Directs Team Members in an assigned zone/area by delivering necessary training, monitoring and reporting daily performance in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity, and supporting the Group Leader with necessary tasks and functions for the department/area in order to achieve overall company goals and objectives.

II. Essential Job Functions:

• Acts as a Front-Line Leader emphasizing team safety, product quality, efficiency, following standards and discipline

• Assist in the development of standardized work procedures by designing and/or documenting the current best work sequence for each process

• Promotes and participates in safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects utilizing TPS principles and tools

• Assist in maintaining training matrix for team, assuring training is effective and correcting substandard performance as soon as its detected during daily audits

• Train new team members by breaking down standardized work following Job Instruction Method and being a resource for assistance to all Team Members

• Understand and execute all policies and procedures firmly, fairly, and consistently.

• Be proactive in predicting abnormalities or problems and finding innovative solutions to correct these.

• Direct and facilitate quality improvement activities as coach or mentor to the operators

• Provide direction to operators about daily job assignments and needs of the area

• Perform production readiness confirmation in pre-shift and complete post shift checks

• Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.

• Hourly production performance tracking by maintaining a Production Analysis Board for each process

• Other duties as assigned

III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree in Manufacturing or related field preferred; or equivalent 3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.

Personal/Technical Skills:

• Ability to develop training materials following Job Instruction method (will be trained on JI method).

• Ability to deliver training to Team Members in assigned zone/area based on training plans and needs.

• Ability to perform basic data analysis and reasoning analysis.

• Ability to read and interpret training related documents for production environments such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Basic understanding of TPS (Toyota Production System).

• Basic math skills.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Develops team member relations centered on trust and teamwork.

• Detail oriented, logical, and methodical approach to problem solving.

• Perceptive person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels.

• Ability to take initiative on assigned tasks without significant supervision.

• Ability to maintain flexibility in a constantly changing work environment.

• Must be able to multi-task, handle diversity, and provide leadership through problem resolution.

• Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization in a multicultural environment.

(All of these skills are preferred or will be trained)

Language Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Computer/Software:

• Solid working knowledge of, and experience with, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS word, MS Outlook preferred.

IV. Work Environment/Conditions:

Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.

Plant: Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, reflective vest etc. required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.

Travel: 5%

V. Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit and work on a computer is also required.
