Description: Stepdown/Tele RN - Days - Deaconess Henderson AUTO OFFER NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE) Start: 12/2 or 12/16 - Bi-weekly orientation Primary location: Henderson Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Potential float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & Deaconess Gateway (IN 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every third weekend. Every other holiday. Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Three years as RN - including one solid year of stepdown/PCU experience, 1 travel assignment. Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class) Patient Population: Stepdown/PCU patient population, including drips (insulin, heparin, cardiac, etc.). Sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia. Surgical urology, abdominal, ortho. Skillset: Required: Tele interpretation, initiate/titrate insulin, heparin, cardiac drips.Preferred: PIV insertion, stable home vents, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (lasix, protonix), blood product administration, continous BiPap, drain management, Neutropenic precautions. Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Unit Information: SDU 10 beds; Ratio: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:5-6; Tele 15 beds; Ratio Days: 1:5-6, NOCs 1:6. CN rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift.Unit Strengths: Excellent retention and experience on unit. Smaller facility with great team work and a seasoned nursing staff.
