Job Summary: The Insurance Agent Support role is responsible for providing sales support to insurance agents. This involves following up with insurance carriers on the status of transfers, identifying the necessary forms required for the case to be issued, and acting as a liaison between carriers and agents.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Elicit an agent's needs with speed and composure.
  • Answer questions for the agents specific to service inquiries and resolve problems, by responding orally and/or in writing.
  • Triage basic agent Annuity calls and provide them with support material, illustrations, and when needed, refer them to a qualified licensed representative.
  • Ensure agents' licenses and credentials are current.
  • Navigate the Web and provide web-based documents to agents as needed.
  • Follow up daily with carriers and transfer companies to ensure timely movement of paperwork and funds.
  • Assist in developing/operating procedures to ensure an efficient and effective annuities operation when necessary.
Primary Skills & Requirements:
  • Must possess proficient computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Window-based applications.
  • Excellent telephone, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proven to be highly dependable and a self-motivator.
  • Must work independently with sound organization skills.
  • Must possess strong people and problem-solving skills and be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Curiosity and the ability to ask probing questions to obtain necessary information.
  • Ability to work across time zones with remote team members.
  • Receptiveness to detailed performance feedback.
  • Insurance industry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Good understanding of general office procedures, processes, and equipment.
  • Prefer a minimum education of a four-year undergraduate college degree, or the equivalent in experience.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and set priorities to meet often stressful deadlines; while keeping goals, objectives, priorities, and timelines in perspective.
  • Ability to work as a team player at all times while following team concepts in supporting Agency goals and co-workers.
  • Ability to work and resolve issues independently.
