Help Duties Receive and sign for incoming equipment. Inspect equipment for damage and ensure items received agree with receiving documents. Complete and maintain manual and/or automated document registers and suspense copies to reflect incoming/outgoing supplies/equipment. Maintain the stock in the distribution point. Transport and pick up Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), expendable, and non-expendable items. Operate tractors, trucks, fork lifts up to 6,000 lb., and general-purpose vehicles in accomplishment of work. Independently handle the receipt of incoming supplies and equipment through the movement of items to limited storage or temporary storage and to their final destination. Help Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing. Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds may be required. Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license. A forklift license is required within six months of employment. They frequently lift or carry items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted. The heavier items (up to 70 pounds) are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. WORKING CONDITIONS The work is performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. The worker is exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. The worker may be subject to exposure from toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes when working in hazardous materials areas. The work may require wearing protective clothing such as hardhats, steel toes shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
