Overview
The Environmental Maintenance Technician's main responsibility is to provide maintenance and compliance of all Environmental equipment.

Responsibilities
Essential functions
- Navigate the Maintenance Management software system (L2L) and close assigned completed PM work orders.
- Perform and complete PM work orders as assigned.
- Complete any needed mechanical repairs to Environmental equipment (including changing out Baghouse bags).
- Work with outside Contractors on repairs of equipment when required.
- Work with the production departments on scheduling equipment down for PMS or repairs.
- Record and evaluate daily readings on all environmental equipment, including daily differential readings, opacity inspections, and water readings.
- Operation and maintenance of air pollution control equipment to maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities.
- Comply with current Quality systems requirements.
- Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position, and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter. The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed. The training shall consist of a review of proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements.
- Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning
- Conduct required inspections to ensure compliance with RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, and Fire Protection
- Perform required litmus testing on all acid mist scrubbers and inspection of daily wash down cycles.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance, ensure compliance with NPDES wastewater discharge permit.
- Assist with Facility Maintenance consisting of HVAC, plumbing, and exterior grounds
Other Responsibilities
- All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Preferred working knowledge of Ventilation Equipment (Vacuum, Baghouse, and ventilation ducting)
- Previous work with mechanical repairs preferred
- WWT Operator License 1 or equivalent training.
- Good PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to use power tools, hand tools, ladders, portable pumps, meters, gauges, testing and sampling equipment, and personal protective equipment as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physically fit for continuous standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting
- Physically capable of wearing PPE including gloves, respirator, safety glasses, hardhat, metatarsal guarded shoes in accordance with established policy.
- Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).
- Frequently lifting from grams up to 50 pounds
ENVIRONMENT
- Work is completed in extreme weather conditions. Position will also work around hazardous chemicals.
TRAVEL
- May travel for training.
