Design & Technical Solutions (DTS), a division of Volt Information Sciences and Innova Solutions, is looking for a full-time Engine Diagnostics Instructor to work on-site with a Fortune 500 heavy-equipment manufacturer in Davenport, IA or Waterloo, IA.
The Engine Diagnostics Instructor will deliver engine and drivetrain diagnostic training to heavy-equipment service technicians. Most of the training will be focused on engine-system diagnostics but may grow into other powertrain components including conventional, hybrid, and battery-electric drive systems used on off-road equipment. Most of the training will be delivered virtually from a technical training studio.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver advanced engine and drivetrain diagnostic courses to service technicians.
- Collaborate with instructional designers to create training materials.
- Collaborate with engineering personnel to align training with emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with customer-service personnel to adapt training to current customer needs.
- Connect with dealers to solicit feedback on training effectiveness.
Required (all the following)
- Comfortable delivering technical information, virtually and in-person, to both large and small audiences.
- Experience diagnosing engine and drivetrain systems.
- Experience training heavy-equipment dealer technicians in a classroom or shop environment.
- Ability to work within a team environment to meet delivery dates.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
Preferred (any of the following)
- Experience teaching advanced engine diagnostic classes.
- Experience operating and/or servicing heavy equipment.
- Experience delivering instructor-led technical training virtually.
- Experience working directly with heavy-equipment dealer technicians.
Pay Rate: $30-35.00/hour Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
