COST TECHNICIAN needed for a long-term Contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Valparaiso, INDIANA.

The Big Picture Top Skills Should You Possess:

• Education: High school diploma with some post-secondary education.
• Experience: 8+ years in cost control or a similar role.
• Skills: Effective communication, strong analytical abilities, proficiency in cost tracking, and reporting.

Special Instructions: This hybrid role requires in-office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Responsibilities: The Cost Technician - Intermediate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining project cost data for projects across various stages. The responsibilities extend beyond the foundational duties of a Cost Technician I to include communication, project reporting, and budgeting support.

1. Project Cost Management:
   • Maintain and update multiple project cost control databases, ensuring both detailed and summary information for projects in various life cycle stages.
   • Process project timesheets and verify invoices against timesheet data and contracts, seeking payment approval from Project Managers.
2. Communication and Coordination:
   • Establish communication lines with multiple departments, including suppliers, to streamline data sharing and issue resolution.
   • Resolve invoice discrepancies and cost tracking issues by coordinating with suppliers and project staff.
   • Report project data to enhance decision-making processes and support project stakeholders.
3. Reporting and Analysis:
   • Compile, analyze, and produce both standard and special project cost reports to meet the needs of stakeholders.
   • Contribute to budget planning, development, and associated reporting to support annual budget initiatives.
   • Assist in developing project control guidelines, standards, job aids, and processes.
4. Risk Management and Cost Control:
   • Work collaboratively with departments to monitor and share data to improve project forecasting accuracy.
   • Review contracts to ensure understanding of related costs and facilitate accurate project tracking.
