Job Summary

  • Safely transport passengers to and from extracurricular activities, events and athletic competitions.
  • Maintains written documentation on driving assignments.
  • Maintains positive customer relations with passengers, drivers of other vehicles and pedestrians.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 2 years experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
  • A Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement (Please note, the university will pay for training if necessary).
SKILLS

Required
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Time management skills.
  • Highly thorough and dependable.
  • Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations and safety precautions and practices in the operation of public transportation vehicles.
  • Ability to know your location in relation to the environment or know where other objects are in relation to you and your vehicle.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, hear and understand verbal instructions and to maintain legible records.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse population and effectively communicate with passengers, members of the pubic and other staff.
