Overview of the Plant Accountant position:

The Plant Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, supporting cost analysis, and assisting in financial reporting to the plant's leadership team. Reporting to the Plant Controller or Finance Manager, this role is key to maintaining the financial health of the plant by contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and compliance efforts.

Plant Accountant Main Functions:

• General Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Collaborate with the plant's finance team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy by maintaining general ledger reconciliations, processing journal entries, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Present financial data and reports to plant management.
• Budgeting and Forecasting Support
  • Support the annual budgeting process through data collection and financial analysis.
  • Assist with maintaining rolling forecasts to track plant performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Cost Accounting and Analysis
  • Help implement and maintain cost accounting systems.
  • Analyze production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Reconcile physical inventories and monitor variances in inventory management.
• Compliance and Internal Controls
  • Ensure financial records comply with GAAP, corporate policies, and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Assist with internal audits and strengthen controls to safeguard assets.

Ideal Plant Accountant Profile:

The ideal Plant Accountant will have a solid background in accounting within a manufacturing setting, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to support financial reporting and cost control. Experience in maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal controls is essential for success in this role.

Compensation: The starting compensation for this role is $70,000.00, with additional benefits available.
