Job description

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. The psychiatrist will play a pivotal role in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with substance use disorders. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care and support to our clients. This is a part-time opportunity, starting at 4-6 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of individuals with substance use disorders to assess mental health needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
Provide medication management and psychiatric interventions, including prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications, to address co-occurring mental health conditions.
Collaborate closely with therapists, counselors, and other members of the treatment team to ensure integrated care and holistic support for clients.
Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings to review progress, adjust treatment goals, and coordinate care.
Offer education and support to clients and their families on mental health, addiction, and recovery principles.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Stay current with developments in the field of addiction psychiatry and participate in continuing education activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

Completed at least 3 years of residency in psychiatry

Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the state of Indiana as issued by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
Board certification in Adult Psychiatry
ASAM certification preferred
Strong diagnostic and assessment skills, with the ability to formulate comprehensive treatment plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges.

Working Conditions:

This position primarily operates in a clinical office environment.
Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, trainings, or conferences.
Flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate evening or weekend sessions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a fast-paced, client-centered setting.

Physical Demands:

The employee is occasionally required to stand and be on their feet for long portions of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
