Job Title: Wholesale Outside Sales Representative

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Wholesale Outside Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, a deep understanding of the lumber and building materials industry, and a passion for building relationships with clients. This role involves prospecting, developing, and maintaining a robust customer base, while driving sales growth within an assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Identify and target potential customers in the construction and building materials industry, including builders, contractors, and developers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, site visits, and presentations to promote Cook County Lumber's products and services.
  • Provide customers with product knowledge, pricing, and technical assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with the internal team, including customer service, operations, and logistics, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and territory updates to management.
  • Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and training sessions to stay current on industry trends and expand professional network.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably within the lumber or building materials industry.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale sales practices and the construction market.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory as required.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Educational Requirement: Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred, but not required .
