Job description

The Kiwanis Youth Programs goal and responsibility is to increase both the value and membership base of all Kiwanis Youth Programs/Service Leadership Programs (KYP/SLP). This position works specifically to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate training and education projects that provide increased value to club memberships. Additionally, this position provides collaborative support to develop and kickstart new initiatives, campaigns and projects that increase the growth of membership across all club lines.

Online Education and Training (40%)

  • Serve as a primary staff for coordination, design, implementation, and technical support of online training and education initiatives. These projects currently include the Global Leadership Certificate, advisor trainings, youth protection trainings and other SLP trainings on the learning management system. Other education offerings may be developed in the future.
  • Assist with planning, implementing, and facilitating educational opportunities and related communications materials, such as social media and electronic newsletter announcements.
  • Serve as primary staff for designing evaluation surveys and generating qualitative and quantitative training data.
  • Provide project coordination, logistical oversight, and administrative support to sustain high quality and dynamic program activities.
  • Respond to phone calls and emails.

Live Education and Training (20%)

  • Assist in development and production of training and materials for live online and in-person training including webinars, seminars, and convention workshops.
  • Facilitate and present youth protection and SLP membership education development live online and in-person training.
  • Collaborate with communication staff on developing and implementing education promotional messaging and materials, such as social media and electronic newsletter announcements.
  • Support other program education offerings as needed.

Key Leader Support (30%)

  • Provide logistical support and coordination between stakeholders for Key Leader events, including tracking activities, payments, and contracts.
  • Manage materials inventory and prepare mailings for events.
  • Track, input, and review evaluations, including providing semi-annual reports on data and findings.

Special Projects Support (10%)

  • Brainstorm and collaborate on new projects to grow membership and provide value to current members.
  • Support marketing and promotional campaigns for new and existing projects.

Other Functions:

  • Participate in staff meetings and daily huddles.
  • Work directly with the team manager to identify and resolve departmental issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams within the department and Kiwanis International.
  • Attend and play a role in department events, programs, and conferences.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, non-profit leadership, communications, or equivalent

Required Experience:

  • 3 years in program development and project management
  • Training or 1 year experience with Crowd Wisdom or another learning management system
  • Training or 1 year experience with Articulate 360 or another on-line course authoring tool
  • Experience in a collaborative environment as a member of a team
  • Development and delivery of presentations and training
  • Experience working in a multitask environment with emphasis on organizational skills.
  • Experience working with youth and adult volunteers

Required Skills:

  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Data analysis
  • Ability to apply research to practice
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion with little oversight
  • Capable of maintaining positive working relationships
  • Kiwanis Family or service club experience
  • Experience working with youth
  • Multilingual a plus
  • Experience in youth programs or working with youth in a training environment a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for special program events
  • Some travel required (1-2 times per year)
  • Available to work remotely and in the office
  • Required to use a desktop or laptop PC regularly
  • Required to lift boxes and stand/sit for extended periods at events
  • Required to participate in youth events with lots of activity and movement
