We are actively recruiting for a skilled Configuration Management Specialist with a background in Strategic Weapons Systems and Tactical Missile Systems to join our amazing Maritime and Security team in Crane, IN. In this critical role you will manage and oversee configuration management processes to ensure the integrity and consistency of system designs, documentation, and product baselines throughout the lifecycle of our weapon systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical defense systems that impact national security. As the Configuration Management Specialist, you will Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans and procedures for Strategic and Tactical Missile Systems. Ensure compliance with relevant policies, standards, and regulations in configuration management practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and program management, to maintain accurate documentation and baselines. Conduct configuration audits and assessments to verify product integrity and compliance with requirements. Manage change control processes, including the evaluation, approval, and documentation of engineering changes and deviations. Facilitate configuration management meetings, providing updates and reporting on configuration status and risks. Utilize configuration management tools and software to track and manage documentation and product configurations effectively. Provide training and support to team members on configuration management processes and tools. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in configuration management practices, particularly in the context of strategic and tactical systems. What you bring to the table A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in configuration management, specifically with Strategic Weapons Systems and Tactical Missile Systems. Experience working at NSWC Crane or within the Director of Strategic Systems Programs is highly desirable. A strong understanding of configuration management principles, processes, and tools. A proven ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-973, ISO 9001). Bonus Points for Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CM2, CCMP) Familiarity with software tools such as DOORS, TeamCenter, or equivalent configuration management software. Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies in a military or defense context A master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
