Department Information

Fleet Services is the full-service, fleet management organization at Indiana University. We provide vehicle and equipment rentals, leases, maintenance, fueling, and manage micro-transit van services for Indiana University (IU) Bloomington, and fleet program assistance for the IU regional campuses. Our team provides safe, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable transportation solutions for our customers to support the mission of Indiana University.

IU Ride is a late-night rideshare service for students provided by Indiana University's Motor Pool, which provides all vehicles and materials we use. The service is a vital part of the Indiana-Bloomington community, providing a free, safe, and reliable transportation option for IU Bloomington students. It has been serving students and faculty in various capacities since 1981, when IU Ride was originally established as Women's Wheels to meet the safety needs of women on campus.

Job Summary

Driving, navigating, managing schedules, IU students make it all happen. If you like staying up late and want to protect the safety of your IU community, IU Ride could be your perfect part-time job. Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Responds to ride requests and drives students to desired location.
  • Ability to instruct directions verbally to the driver.
  • Monitors the IU RIDE application and respond in a timely manner to requests.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
OTHER
  • 18 years old to navigate.
  • 20 years old to drive.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
SKILLS

Required
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism.

Work Location

Bloomington, Indiana.

Work Hours

All shifts are worked with a peer.
  • 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
  • 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM.
  • 11:00 PM - 1:45 AM.
