For years the Bepko Internship Program has been upholding Chancellor Bepko's commitment to diversity within IT. The program targets applications from Indiana University student populations that are traditionally under-represented in information technology professions and places them in high quality internships where they are mentored by top professionals and gain first-hand experience in their field. Interns are compensated competitively and have the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate class schedules

Job Summary

  • Brainstorms and cultivates ideas in collaboration with DGI Director and select Mentor Gardeners (faculty who have completed the program).
  • Researches current trends and emerging practices for social media campaigns and digital communication/distribution.
  • In collaboration with DGI Director, develop and implement a social media strategy that distributes media-rich content across a range of platforms.
  • Helps with pre- and post-production of the Digital Gardener Podcast. Some potential roles:

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a Indiana University student
Preferred
  • Currently enrolled in Information Technology, Informatics, or other computing/engineering field major or minor
  • Some familiarity with one or more Adobe Creative Cloud software or an intermediate ability with Adobe Express
  • Some familiarity with one or more social media platforms (with a particular interest in LinkedIn or X)
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • Some experience in one of the primary contribution areas
  • A keen interest in developing digital storytelling skills and/or learning to develop projects from ideation to implementation
SKILLS

Required
  • Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
