Job Summary

The Admission Recruiter/Counselor is responsible for helping to support the enrollment goals of the Luddy School Undergraduate Recruitment Office. This includes

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Meets with prospective and admitted students who wish to enroll in a Luddy major, as well as recruiting prospective students along the application pipeline to meet enrollment targets.
  • Represents the Luddy School both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
  • Assists in the planning and implementing recruitment and yield activities that best support enrollment goals.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to create opportunities for visits and other on-campus opportunities for prospective students and their families. Meets with visitors on a planned and ad hoc basis.
  • Represents Luddy at high-profile on-campus and off-campus events planned by other IU offices (Admissions, Enrollment Management, and Scholarships).
  • Assists with planning and executing programs (ex. Why Luddy) designed to yield prospective and admitted students.
  • Participates in prospective student engagement activities (e.g., information sessions and/or education fairs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree
WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred
  • Previous experience working in student services, higher education, or related field
OTHER

Required
  • 21 years of age
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required
  • Possesses a valid driver s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University
SKILLS

Preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software tools
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel, load recruitment materials, displays and other equipment
  • Sound decision-making judgement on behalf of the Director of Undergraduate Recruiting while engaging with prospective students and their families at on- and off-campus events

Working Conditions / Demands

The person hired must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation. Also, the person selected for this role must be willing to participate in and must pass a background with PIC (programs involving children) check due to work with minor, prospective students.

Advertised Salary

Finalist will receive an offer between $13.50 per hour and $25.00 per hour.

Note that in accordance with our pre-set, part-time rates, if the finalist is an IU undergraduate student, the offer will be $13.50 per hour and if an IU graduate student, the offer will be $16.63 per hour. A person who is not an IU student selected for this position will be be made an offer within the advertised range.

Work Hours

Hire will be expected to work up to 29 hours per week and occasional evening and weekend hours will be required, especially during recruitment travel season. Schedule specifics should be discussed in interview and finalized during offer phase.
