POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
In the electrical maintenance role you will Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical systems of the plant in accordance with codes, regulations, and specifications, ensuring minimum down time of the plant operations, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Support maximizing facility uptime through execution of rolling equipment setups.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Constant standing.
Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs.
Occasional carrying, lifting to 60 lbs, hand use, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, below waist level work, complex neck/spinal motion, and walking.
Minimal climbing, foot use, and lifting up to 120 lbs.
Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. If you do not have it, we will require that you enroll in our GED Works program.
Accredited maintenance apprenticeship or two years technical training with two plus years' industrial maintenance experience.
Five plus years' industrial maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hydraulic certification (preferred)
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
Ability to use a wide variety of metal working, hand, and power equipment.
Troubleshooting/machine repair skills.
Welding experience.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, machine installation, welding, fabrication, and pipefitting.
Ability to use math skills including fractions, percentages, geometry, and probability.
Ability to read and understand technical procedures.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with other employees.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, machine installation, welding, and pipefitting.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Perform advanced problem solving by identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting machine issues.
Perform a wide variety of machine installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting work to keep production and support equipment in operating condition.
Install and replace all types of plant equipment including cut off and sawing equipment, centerless grinders, trepanning lathes, etc.
Install, repair, replace, and troubleshoot power transmission drives and align and adjust sheaves and couplings.
Repair or replace all components on various equipment throughout the plant.
Work independently on jobs such as replacing a hydraulic cylinder on a holding furnace, repairing or replacing a coil on the melt furnace.
Perform all work required to rig, move, and erect all types of equipment for new installation, major part replacement, and layout changes.
Working from drawing, layouts, and specifications; plan and develop work sequence; determine machinery or equipment needs; use tools and equipment to fabricate or assemble necessary parts and units.
Operate forklift truck equipped with special attachments for lifting, pulling, and transporting; skillfully use all types of rigging and hoisting equipment such as chain falls, jacks, and ratcheting hoists.
Safely and competently use maintenance shop tools in a skillful, competent and safe manner including machine tools such as drill press, power saw, and the hydraulic press as well as electric drills, grinders, sanders, pneumatic hammers, wrenches hammers and a variety of other tools.
Use welding and cutting torches to fabricate as needed.
Follow all plant safety rules; including lock out of all plant equipment so that it is safe to work on; use safety equipment appropriates for the job; be aware of the safety of others.
Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
