SBA Lender

The SBA Loan Coordinator is responsible for the preparation of loan packages for submission to the Small Business Administration and other government agencies for commercial loan approvals.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Process Small SBA 7(a) loan files($350,000 or less), SBA Express Loans; occasionally SBA 504 and Conventional loan files.


  • order, and track due diligence items such as title policies, environmental reports, etc.


  • Coordinate the collection of required documentation from borrower and/or lender.


  • Contact lenders, title companies, insurance agents, and others to ensure missing post-closing documents have been obtained and make sure that files are complete with all final recorded documents.


  • Order credit reports, as needed.


  • Verify accuracy of documents based on type of loan.


  • Prepare settlement sheets for loan disbursements and verify that documentation supports the original authorization.


  • Supports departmental duties including answering phones, processing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries, maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies, maintaining filing systems, etc.

Requirements For SBA Lender:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
  • 2 years minimum and in an active lending role currently
  • Experience working in an environment with individual and team goals preferred
  • Strong business development and credit risk assessment skills
  • SBA with revenue to small-middle market companies.
  • Must have a proven track record in business development at a bank or firm.
  • Knowledge of Bank regulations regarding lending and debt collection
  • Need to be from a community bank or credit union atmosphere and be involved in local communities in your area
