Job description

Duties Leads, assists, and represents the DLA Energy Commander at USTRANCOM HQ by synchronizing DLA Energy Integrated Material Management responsibilities with USTRANSCOM's Global Bulk Fuel Management Mission. Represents DLA Energy at senior Combatant Command forums; Plans, schedules, and participates in formal and informal meetings and conferences to present, exchange information, and improve DLA Energy logistics support. Directs and provides expertise at the strategic level for development and revision of DLA's bulk fuel support for Combatant Command operational plans, contingency plans, and exercises. Prepares a broad range of investigative, analytical and feasibility studies, which are often of an unprecedented nature. Develops requirements and coordinates actions through appropriate channels to ensure adequate provisions for manpower, supplies, equipment, and services to meet DLA's ability to perform its combat support agency logistics mission. Coordinates with USTRANCOM on DoD-wide fuels infrastructure projects via the Military Construction (MILCON) Program. Reviews, studies, and interprets DoD and other Federal government agency policies, procedures, and regulations for impact on DLA and DLA Energy planning. Qualifications To qualify for a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Identify and develop ways to resolve problems which directly affect the accomplishment of the agency goals and plans. Applies operations research analyses and make recommendations that could directly impact or form the Agency's business operations. Assesses execution of plans for providing customer support and readiness performance. Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information; researches and applies a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to identify, analyze, and program effectiveness, efficiency, and work products. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
