Job description

Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Help Desk Technician II to join our USAF Air Mobility Command Global Decision Support System (GDSS) Functional Help Desk Team. The Help Desk Technician Level II provides second-tier technical support to end-users, managing more complex technical problems related to hardware, software, and network configurations. This position requires a strong understanding of IT systems and the ability to work independently to resolve problems. Level II technicians interact with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development to restore service or identify and correct core issues. Duties & Responsibilities Provide second-tier technical support to users for PC, server, or mainframe applications and hardware. Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development to resolve core problems. Identify, research, and resolve technical issues independently or with minimal supervision. Recommend system modifications to reduce user problems and improve overall functionality. Document, track, and monitor help desk tickets to ensure timely resolutions. Assist in the training and coaching of Level I technicians. Qualifications Active Secret Clearance Minimum 4 years of functional/technical experience in IT support or help desk roles. High School Diploma or Associate's Degree with appropriate certifications. Strong troubleshooting skills in PC hardware, software, and networking. Experience with help desk software and ticket management systems. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage complex technical issues independently. Requires IAT Level I Certification as defined in DODD 8140.01 and AFMAN 17-1303.
