This is a 40 hour per week position.

Work hours are somewhere between 7 am and 5:30 pm dependent on the position and patient needs.Some positions may work on a Saturday rotation with hours between 7 am and 12 pm.

This position may require traveling to all of our locations.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating all scheduling aspects of hospital surgeries, outside testing and all office procedures. Assists the patient with all aspects of pre-operative preparations in order to promote confidence in their medical care and deliver a quality surgical experience. Provides follow through and communicates with the appropriate staff to ensure the needs of the patient are taken care of in a prompt manner. Although duties may vary by assigned area or shift, the following accurately describes the essential job functions.

Education & Experience:

At least 2 years of ophthalmology experience preferred.
Experience in surgical scheduling or a surgical environment is preferred.
Current COA certification preferred.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (patients, staff, management, and physicians).
Maintain a professional, respectful, and friendly image.
Ability to prioritize and work independently and as a team player.
Experience with an EMR system is preferred.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple demands on a daily basis.
Well-organized with attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment.
Takes responsibility for personal actions.
Possesses a commitment to quality and excellence.
Knowledgeable of ophthalmic conditions, surgeries and treatment.
Positive representation of the mission and vision of the Illinois Eye Center.
