Job Title:

Wide Web Flexographic Press Operator (Uteco 10-Color CI Press)


Job Summary:

Brook + Whittle, a leader in sustainable label and packaging solutions, is looking for an experienced Wide Web Flexographic Press Operator for their Northbrook, IL location. As part of the production team, you will operate state-of-the-art Uteco 10-color CI presses, specializing in the production of frozen food bags and other high-quality packaging materials. We are seeking candidates for Day, 2nd, and 3rd shifts to help drive the success of our operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage the Uteco 10-color Central Impression (CI) press, ensuring top-quality printing on flexible packaging materials.

  • Set up and adjust press settings for ink viscosity, color registration, tension, and substrate alignment to meet customer specifications.

  • Monitor press performance, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to maintain production efficiency.

  • Perform routine maintenance on the press and related equipment to ensure continuous operation and minimize downtime.

  • Conduct quality control checks throughout the print run to ensure high-quality finished products.

  • Complete production documentation, including material usage, job details, and press performance.

  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize efficiency and meet daily production targets.


Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications in flexographic printing are a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience operating wide web flexographic presses (preferably Uteco or similar CI presses).

  • Extensive knowledge of flexographic printing processes, ink systems, and materials such as films for frozen food packaging.

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to maintain precise color matching and registration throughout the production run.

  • Knowledge of 5S or Lean Manufacturing practices is preferred.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and willingness to follow all health and safety guidelines.


Work Environment:

  • Shifts Available:

    • Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

    • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

    • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM



  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. The role involves exposure to moving machinery, inks, and solvents.
