The Board of Police Commissioners for the Village of Lake Villa is now accepting applications for the position of Entry-Level Police Officer. All testing and documents must be submitted no later than October 9, 2024.

Position Information:

Testing is being conducted for one immediate new hire police officer position and to establish an eligibility list for future hiring needs.

Salary:
Starting: $66,441.92
Current contract top out: $101,959.18 (within seven years)
Contract expires in 2026

Hiring Process:

Completion of Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and submission of required documents by October 9, 2024
Completion of the Frontline National Exam and Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA) through the National Testing Network. Candidates may take the test virtually or in person.
Completion of the Online Interview through the National Testing Network.
Obtain a Physical Agility Test Card (POWER Test) from an ILETSB-certified testing facility no more than nine months prior to the date of the written exam.
All required documents, PHQ, PSSA, and online interview must be completed by October 9, 2024, to be eligible for the initial eligibility list.

Background investigation and staff interview
Oral interview with the Police Commission
Post-offer examinations/screenings include psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, medical exam, and drug screening.

Job Requirements:

Age: Applicants must be under 35 years old at the time of application and at the time the Final Eligibility Register is posted unless exempted by law. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
Driver's License: Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license.
College: Preference points can be added with proper documentation.
Academy Certification: Must successfully complete academy training assigned after hiring.
Residence: No residency requirements.
Physical Agility Testing: Obtain a Physical Agility Test Card (POWER Test) from an ILETSB-certified testing facility within nine months prior to the written exam.
Additional Requirements:
