FTI is seeking a Senior Command Fitness Leader to support the Administration Department at the Surface Warfare Engineering School Command (SWESC) in Great Lakes. The Command Fitness Leader (CFL) provides technical and administrative support for managing all aspects of the physical readiness program. Responsibilities Oversees the administrative and technical supervision of the SWESC Physical Readiness Program.
Designs, supervises, coaches, and instructs a diverse range of group exercise programs both within and outside the fitness facility. Delivers fitness training and programming to groups of varying sizes. Develops written instructions and procedures for work performance, equipment use, safety, and participant well-being. Provides guidance on the proper execution and upkeep of conditioning and training programs encompassing aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition, and flexibility training. Administers fitness assessments, including tests for aerobic capacity, body composition, muscular strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, and blood pressure. Collaborates with command representatives to formulate and implement physical fitness initiatives for military personnel. Maintains comprehensive records for the Physical Readiness Program at SWESC.
Participates in the check-in process to ensure all Sailors engage in an official Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA), including Body Composition Assessment (BCA) and Physical Readiness Test (PRT), regardless of their tenure onboard.
Drafts and disseminates an official Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) notification, in accordance with SWESC Program guidelines.
Drafts Administrative Remarks (NAVPERS 1070/613) (Page-13) for all enlisted personnel. Processes administrative documentation associated with the Fitness Enhancement Program (FEP), Physical Activity Risk Factor Questionnaire (PARFQ) and NAVMED 6110/4.
Must promptly report any injuries sustained during organized group physical training (PT) or the PFA to the Command Safety Officer.
Oversees medical screening and clearance processes, ensuring that Sailors who indicate a need for medical evaluation and clearance based on Physical Activity Risk Factor Questionnaire (PARFQ) responses undergo medical assessment before participating in the Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA).
Maintains familiarity with Physical Readiness Program (PRP) nutrition policies and ensuring their full compliance within their command.
Must complete the Physical Readiness Program-approved CFL Certification course before assuming CFL duties and recertify every five years either by successfully completing the CFL Certification Course or attending the CFL Seminar. Must complete required DoD-approved dietary supplement safety training via the Operation Supplement Safety (OPSS).
Education/Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret security clearance (minimum) with the ability to maintain. 6+ years' experience managing a PHA Program is required.
Must be located within a commutable distance to report, full-time, to our customer on site in Great Lakes, IL.
Must possess a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, and must maintain.
Must have professional experience administering Body Composition Assessments (BCA).
Must have professional experience administering Physical Fitness Assessments (PFA).
Must have professional experience administering Physical Readiness Tests (PRT).
U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted or Commissioned Officer with experience administering command wide PHA programs, is highly preferred.
