Job Summary: We are looking for a Cost Analyst to join our Finance department. Main responsibilities are performing, inventory, job cost, and profitability analyses.

As a Cost Analyst, you will collaborate with the financial staff to provide accurate and timely financial information to management. You will also assist in developing and implementing cost-effective solutions to improve the profitability and efficiency of our company.

To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 2-5 years of experience in a cost analyst, financial analyst, or accountant role. You should also have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of accounting software and principles.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Collect and analyse data on operational costs and revenues.
  2. Prepare and maintain cost accounting records and reports.
  3. Review and verify the accuracy of Raw Material, WIP, and Finished Goods.
  4. Project analysis including EAC review, WIP Reserves, NRV Loss, Margin Analysis, Cost Analysis and Cost Exception review.
  5. Oversee Cycle Counts and collaborate with Inventory Control / Operations.
  6. Posting and review of customer invoicing.
  7. Prepare, review, and analyze the quarterly inventory E&O process and liaison with Operations.
  8. Perform profit and cost variance analysis and identify the causes of discrepancies.
  9. Assist in month-end and year-end closing and auditing processes.
  10. Assist in the month-end close process including report generation, review and analysis, journal entries and reconciliations.
  11. Recommend and implement cost-saving measures, KPIs, and process improvements.

  1. Monitor and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  2. Other related duties and special projects as determined by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. 2-5 years of experience in cost analyst or similar role.
  3. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting standards.
  4. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of Government cost accounting standards (CAS) and/or IFRS, a plus.
  6. Proficient in accounting software. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus.
  7. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, especially in using formulas, functions, and pivot tables. Cognos and Power BI experience a plus.
  8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
