Alera Group Midwest, formerly GCG Financial LLC is seeking an Account Executive to join our Employee Benefits team.

The Account Executive will take the lead on employee benefits accounts and provide multiple layers of support in maintaining, expanding, and servicing the unique needs of each of our clients. This person will be responsible for strengthening new and existing relationships by actively investigating clients' needs through effective questioning and listening.
This individual must be able to prioritize objectives in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment and demonstrate advanced knowledge of current healthcare industry and trends. Additionally, this individual should have a proactive servicing approach, a strong sense of urgency responding to client matters on time, and advanced problem-solving skills.
Lead client relationships by serving as the primary day-to-day point of contact with ownership of the client and producer relationships to ensure an exceptional client experience:
- Develop a deep understanding of the clients' goals and objectives and develop plans to achieve measurable positive outcomes
- Manage daily communications, deliver clear and concise presentations with enthusiasm and passion, and hold regular face-to-face meetings
- Create and effectively administer annual client service calendars and issue resolution monitoring
- Work closely with producer to build and implement plan designs and strategies that meet client's long-term goals
- Work closely with the Analytics and Insights team to help prepare and present detailed plan design analysis that will aid GCG clients in making informed decisions
- Implement new plan designs and help clients maximize utilization of their current plans
- Assist in the new business sales process including the preparation of RFP's, proposals, and presentations
- Coordinate review of SPD's, contracts, and legal documents to ensure compliance
- Coordinate employee communication and engagement including but not limited to open enrollment presentations, ongoing educational materials, etc.
- Work with account managers to resolve day-to-day service issues, including eligibility, billing, and claims issues
- Be accountable for client retention and client satisfaction for the designated book of business and the accuracy and excellence of client deliverables
- Ensure cohesiveness and timeliness of service execution
- Implement client retention strategies across assigned book of business
- Provide leadership, training, mentorship to team members while maintaining successful relationships with producers, managers, carriers, and members of other departments
Develop strong relationship with carrier and actuarial partners to ensure successful outcomes on behalf of GCG clients
- Proactively learn about products, services and underwriting approaches
- Attend meetings and events as appropriate to foster positive relationships
- Bachelor's Degree
- Life and Health Insurance State License (Required)
- Professional Certification (GBA, PHR, CLU, CEBS, CBP) (Preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of employee benefits experience (insurance carrier and/or insurance brokerage experience)
- Advanced knowledge of
- Health and Welfare plans - HMO, PPO, CDHP
- Ancillary Coverage including Life, Short and Long Term Disability, Dental, Vision, etc.
- Broad understanding of the various regulations surrounding health and welfare plans
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with little or no supervision
- Sound judgment and willingness to take on responsibility for results
- Computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel (creating and verifying financial spreadsheets) and PowerPoint
- Exemplary relationship management and customer services skills
