Job description

General Summary

Registered Respiratory Therapists provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions to patients in various settings, including critical care units, emergency departments, and general patient care areas.
Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, including oxygen levels, breathing patterns, and lung function

Administer medications and inhalation therapies as prescribed by physicians
Perform diagnostic tests, such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Qualifications

-Associates Degree required and successful completion of the examination offered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or clinical setting
- Proficiency in ventilator management and critical care respiratory therapy
- Strong knowledge of respiratory physiology, anatomy, and pathophysiology
- Familiarity with medication administration related to respiratory therapy
- Ability to perform patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required.
