Job description

Job Responsibilities:




  • Check-out patient

  • Collect co-payments and/or balances

  • Schedules appointments and confirm appointments

  • Answers and triages calls. Transfer calls appropriately

  • Obtain authorizations for FCE and HMO patients as needed

  • W/C and IME liaison

  • Calls and confirms appointments

  • Obtains medical records for new patients

  • Scan documents into EMR

  • Medical records requests

  • Rooms patients on clinic days, takes patient s vitals (weight only)

  • Provides coverage for staff when on vacation, sick or out of office



Translating for Spanish speaking patients as needed.



Qualifications Required:




  • Knowledgeable in electronic medical records. Preferable in Practice Partner but not required

  • Must have Microsoft Office Excel skills

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills to root cause and recommend innovative solutions.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize issues.

  • Works well in environment with firm deadlines; results oriented.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong teamwork orientation; willingness to help larger team meet goals and responsibilities.

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment.



Additional Information:




  • HOURS: Monday Friday. Some late hours

  • Hourly wage negotiable

  • EXPERIENCE: Successful candidate will have 3-4 years of working in a medical office setting.

  • PAID TIME OFF: Vacation accrues on a bi-weekly basis at two weeks/year. Sick/personal time accrues on a bi-weekly basis at five days/year. Five paid holidays/year
