Summary


Manage maintenance, repair, and documentation of all agency-owned vehicles. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.



Essential Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:


  • Determine the overall mechanical condition of vehicles and diagnose fleet vehicle problems.
  • Inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Analyze fleet maintenance requirements to determine immediate and long-term needs for safety.
  • Perform preventative and special maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles.
  • Monitor fleet maintenance requirements (e.g., emission testing).
  • Respond to emergency vehicle situations and vehicle breakdowns in the field. Arrange for towing service or other necessary repairs.
  • Document vehicle repair, maintenance, and inspections. Prepare written materials (e.g., reports, memos, etc.) as needed.
  • Identify and place orders for repair/replacement parts for vehicles. Complete necessary documentation.
  • Ensure that all vehicles comply with state and local requirements. Track and order license plate and city sticker renewals.
  • Perform weekly mail run for inter-office correspondence.
  • Manage, maintain, and deliver, as needed, all on-site agency records.
  • The included language stating position may be required to work nights and weekends (if applicable).

QUALIFICATIONS


To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCE


  • Two years of medium-duty truck/bus repair and maintenance experience; valid Class B commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement; must meet DOT requirements in a certificate of qualifications.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to create a database of clients.
  • Avoid using names like Paylocity, instead use generic terms like HRIS.
  • When using terms like strong organizational skills, be prepared with appropriate questions when screening applicants.
