Job Title: Surgical Technician (Surg Tech)

Location: Champaign, Illionois

Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our perioperative team. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care during surgical procedures. The Surgical Technician will assist in maintaining a sterile environment and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth operations during surgeries.

Job Details:
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift : Days (Monday - Friday)
Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Days per Week: 5
Holiday Shifts: N/A
Weekend Shifts: N/A
Floating Requirements: N/A

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe, aseptic environment during surgeries.
Assist surgeons as the first or second scrub tech, demonstrating proficiency in select technical and psychomotor skills.
Provide age-appropriate care to obstetrical patients, following established departmental policies and procedures.
Organize and manage surgical supplies and equipment to ensure efficient use of resources.
Assist with room turnover and equipment setup, and ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working order.
Charge for equipment and supplies used during procedures.
Perform sterilization and disinfection processes, documenting all loads per policy.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology OR Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program

Required Certifications & Licensure:
CST Certificate
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of surgical technician experience.
Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures.

Required Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills related to surgical procedures.
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology.
Applied knowledge of electricity, chemistry, robotics, and laser use in surgeries.
Ability to work effectively as part of a perioperative team and maintain patient safety.

Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive pay range: $51 - $55 / hour
