USTRANSCOM Regional Operations Department (N255) provides a range of systems engineering, data engineering/analytics, modeling and simulation, and architecture design experience in support of our nation's military deployment and distribution capabilities. USTRANSCOM's mission is to conduct globally integrated mobility operations, lead the broader Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise and provide enabling capabilities in order to project and sustain the Joint Force in support of national objectives. Our team is focused on solving critical military transportation problems through mission-focused system of systems engineering, design thinking and user-centered approaches. Roles & Responsibilities: The USTRANSCOM Regional Operations Department is seeking aContested Deployment & Distribution (CD2) Lead with a strong background in leading teams to accomplish technical goals.Specifically, the CD2 Lead will: Lead small to medium sized teams to deliver DoD solutions to meet deployment and distribution needs in a contested fight.
Provide deployment and distribution expertise during the development of prototypes and system models to create multi-service support to global, regional and base locations during constrained and contested operations
Conduct in-depth deployment and distribution analysis of operational plans to enable efficient and effective accomplishment of Service and Combatant Command mission requirements
Serve as deployment and distribution subject matter expert during system concept development, requirements engineering, system architecture development, and system implementation
Conduct in-depth deployment and distribution analysis to identify gaps and potential solutions to current national resourcing challenges
Present technical recommendations to government sponsors and stakeholders Basic Qualifications: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Active Secret level security clearancewith ability to obtain TS/SCI.
Demonstrated joint military experience, warfighter support experience and knowledge of military transportation planning and operations
Proven ability tolead, nurture, and developtechnical talent and a technical team of teams.
Possess the ability to define and lead complex tasks.
Proven ability to offer innovative solutions to complex deployment and distribution challenges
Leadership Presence: Communicates in a compelling fashion across the organization (oral and written); inspires trust through vision for the technical program and the work environment they create;demonstrates leadershipthat MITRE people want to follow.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field
Active TS/SCI level security clearance
General understanding of systems modeling, data analysis, cyber risk assessment, or software-intensive systems
10+ years of experience with the military transportation domain, including:
Deployment and sustainment planning and execution experience
Military war planning experience
Command and control experience via command, operations centers, etc
Coalition experience
Extensive knowledge of key transportation processes and their associated systems including the Joint Planning Process, Force Flow Planning, Transportation Feasibility Assessments, Multi-modal operations, Global Force Management, Commander's Apportionment and Allocations, Operational risk assessment This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): Secret This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Top Secret/SCI Work Location Type:
