Job description

CV Resources is partnering with a dynamic and growing construction company with annual revenues of $15 million+ on the search for a Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller! This is a full-time onsite position in Nampa, ID.

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to join our client's growing finance team. This role will oversee key accounting functions, including payroll and WIP accounting, and support the Controller in managing financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting and certified payroll experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Manage payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing, with a focus on certified payroll compliance and Davis Bacon wages.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards and regulations.
  • Monitor project costs and work with project managers to ensure accurate job costing.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Controller in financial planning, analysis, and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Handle month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with tax preparation and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a construction accounting role.
  • Proficiency in payroll processing, including certified payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and job costing.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in accounting software (Viewpoint preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
