About the role

The Client Services Associate is responsible for supporting the Business Development team in servicing client accounts at the pre-award and post-award stage. Once business is awarded, this Client Services Associate will act as a liaison between Alturas Analytics scientific operations and Business Development. This position is primarily internally focused as a support role but does include client interactions via phone, email, and video conferencing.


Essential Responsibilities, Duties, and Roles:


Pre-award:

  • Prepares business agreements to include project estimates, quotations, statements of work
  • Reviews and interprets study protocols for generation of business documents, timelines for project workflow, budgeting, and forecasting in conjunction with Project Coordinators, Principal Investigators, and Laboratory Director
  • Manages account and project information through the use of customer relation and project management processes and Client Resource Management (CRM) system

Post-award:

  • Transitions client from Business Development to scientific operations
  • Works with Client Services Coordinator to identify and request essential information and documentation necessary for planning bioanalytical support for projects from clients, to include methods, compound properties, validation reports, anticipated schedules and critical milestones
  • Interfaces with internal Principal Investigators and Project Coordinators and acts as a liaison for transfer of information pertinent for study conduct
  • Works with Business Development and Project Coordinators to address new business needs (scope creep or new study requests) that may arise during the course of a program

Additional Duties and Tasks as assigned:

  • Reviews laboratory services and confidentiality agreements
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned
Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science (chemistry, life science, or related field) or business or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical development industry or other technical industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of CRM and project management software applications (Constant Contact, Salesforce) preferred
  • Life science or preclinical/clinical research experience preferred
  • Successful proposal and program coordination, client support, marketing experience preferred
  • Working knowledge and competency of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce or similar CRM tool preferred

Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide exceptional customer service
  • Skills in critical thinking, time-management, problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team as well as knowledge of conflict resolution techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal clients
  • Understanding of the operational components of a contract research organization (CRO) preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting and working in front of a computer over 2/3 of the time
  • Walking and standing less than 1/3 of the time between departments/offices (if in the office)
  • Using a telephone up to 2/3 of the time
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping or kneeling less than 1/3 of the time
  • Talking or hearing over 2/3 of the time
  • Travel up to 5% of the time
