Job description

A well respected, regional health care company, known to be an outstanding place to work, has hired Aspen Personnel Service to help them find a top-notch, progressive patient-centered Physician for their Lewiston, Idaho clinic.



Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Attends to a diverse patient demographic, encompassing various genders, ages, and ethnicities, as well as both insured and uninsured individuals.

  • Conducts examinations to assess the overall physical condition of patients, performing physical assessments and preventive healthcare interventions following prescribed protocols.

  • Orders or administers a variety of tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging to gather information on the patients health status.

  • Evaluates reports and findings, arriving at a diagnosis for the patients conditions.

  • Prescribes or suggests medications and other treatments, such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures. Administers inoculations and vaccinations to safeguard against communicable diseases. Undertake minor surgical procedures. Refers patients to medical specialists or other healthcare practitioners for specialized care.

  • Provides guidance to patients on matters like diet, hygiene, and preventive measures against diseases.

  • Documents and endorses physical findings, devises a plan and prognosis based on the patients conditions, and records them in the patientelectronic chart according to established standards.

  • Notifies relevant authorities of birthdays, deaths, and outbreaks of contagious diseases.

  • Participates in provider staff meetings to develop problem-solving techniques and enhance team building skills. Engages in peer reviews.

  • Represents the clinic at conferences, meetings, and ongoing education programs.

  • Contributes to clinic Quality Improvement initiatives upon request.

  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as delegated or as required.

  • Preform a variety of Administrative and Supervisory Responsibilities, including:


-Performs clinical services under the guidance of the CCO.
-Mentors physician assistant students, nurse practitioner students, and other designated students as needed.
-Supervises designated Physician Assistants.
-Serves as a resource for mid-level providers in the clinic.
-Advocates for mid-level providers with external health agencies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Successful completion of an accredited medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy program is mandatory.

  • Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty (internists/pediatricians, family practice, obstetrics/gynecology) is required.

  • Strong preference for expertise in Family Practice.

  • Prior experience in working with underserved populations is highly valued. Certification through the Drug Enforcement Agency and valid licensure in Washington State are mandatory.

  • BLS certification is a prerequisite.

  • Must secure credentialing through identified agencies (Medicare, Medical, etc.)

  • Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.

  • Proficiency in computer skills is required.

  • Preferred experience with Electronic Health records (EHR).



Salary:
