POSITION : HR Generalist Afternoon/evening STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The HR Generalist will assist the HR Business Partner with guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and all employees at JTS, ensuring policies and procedures are consistently and effectively applied. This role assists all aspects of HR ranging from payroll and timekeeping, benefits administration, employee engagement and anything needed from onboarding to offboarding tasks. We are looking for an individual who will be enthusiastic about assisting with a variety of functions and tasks for staff and the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for learning the processing of all company payroll runs, compiling time records, verifying hours to be able to back up HRBP when necessary.
- Assist with processing wage garnishments, including the reporting to the necessary State Office or agency setup and payoff amounts.
- Assist in the managing of the compensation review to ensure employee pay is current with job descriptions, market wages and overall pay strategy.
- Follow up with new hires to ensure they have completed benefit enrollment within their first 30 days.
- Assist with employee benefit insurance administration and oversee that coverage effective date and payroll deductions are accurate.
- Assist managers in tracking attendance call-ins, no-shows and repeat issues;
- Help maintain personnel files to ensure legal and company handbook compliance
- Support the HRBP with Unemployment Insurance process including responding to claims submitted, gathering documentation.
- Assist with employee new hire paperwork (paper and in our HRIS) and onboarding activities.
- Help coordinate proper access to Paylocity, troubleshoot issues for staff, and maintain data in the system.
- Assist with coordination and plan special company events throughout the year such as celebrations, fun tournaments and other gatherings;
- Support the employee recognition programs, including service awards, sympathy baskets, and other events such as birthdays, anniversaries and other life events.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in HR Management or Organizational Development is desired OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required).
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience, or business support field experience.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing type environment preferred.
- Experience with timekeeping and payroll and HRIS platform (Paylocity preferred).
- Strong understanding of document management systems and document retention.

- Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong technical skills including intermediate or above experience level in MS Office applications
- Ability to show patience and courtesy when dealing with others and have pleasant telephone manners
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
