Job description

Bartlett Roofing is looking to expand our in house software development team! After building up a team over the last year, and bringing our design & development in house, we want to continue growing the team. We recently restarted our design of the product approximately 4 months ago. We are currently handing off designs almost immediately to our developers. Our goal over the next 3-4 months is to get caught up on design and have a more streamlined process to development.

We are looking for people who are have experience with startups, design, and end to end development. We are also looking for people who can easily adapt as we grow. Ideally we would like to hire someone who can bounce between design and development frequently. The reason is that we pride ourselves in always growing, and the more adaptable you are, the better you will fit in. We hope to prepare this CRM system / lead gen platform to go to market next year. We will be launching our MVP in house in February. Alongside your application, please be prepared to showcase a portfolio of design experience.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually DOE

Who You Are

• Proficient in Figma: Strong experience in creating, editing, and managing design systems, components, and prototypes in Figma.
• Collaborative Design Skills: Able to work closely with developers and other team members to translate design concepts into clear, functional user interfaces.
• Front-End Development Knowledge: Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as Vue.js and understanding of how to translate design elements into components.
• Responsive Design: Experienced in designing responsive layouts that adapt seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes.
• Version Control for Design: Ability to manage design versioning and track changes to ensure alignment with development sprints.
• Cross-functional communication: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both design and development teams, ensuring designs are feasible and aligned with product goals.
• Prototyping & User Flows: Capable of creating interactive prototypes and detailed user flows to visualize user experiences.
• Design to Code Handoff: Skilled at preparing design files and annotations for smooth handoff to developers, ensuring accuracy in implementation.
• Cross-Disciplinary Skills: Ability to transition seamlessly from design tasks to development tasks, contributing to both design and codebases as needed.
• Node.js & Express: Familiarity with backend technologies like Node.js and Express to collaborate effectively with the development team or transition into full-stack development.
• MongoDB Experience: Understanding of MongoDB for working with databases, with the potential to contribute to both front-end and back-end development.
• Agile Workflow Familiarity: Comfortable working in an agile development environment, with experience in tools like Linear for managing tasks.
