TITLE: Professional Engineer

DIVISION: A&E

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering


POSITION SUMMARY: The ideal candidate for this position will need to be a Professional Engineer this is a licensed P.E. with experience in both engineering and wireless construction requirements. In this position you would be responsible for the structural engineering design of wireless communication projects, to include new and existing building structures, non-building building structures, and non-structural components. This includes preparing formal reports, calculations, and determining structural requirements with project design team members, clients, contractors, building officials and other consultants, utilizing engineering experience, judgment, and expertise to create efficient and timely solutions. (This position is not meant for RF Engineers or Fiber Engineers.)


Must be familiar with performing Mount Analysis and Structural Analysis


Position Duties:

  • Performs structural and mount analysis and design for existing building structures, non-building structures and non-structural equipment and their respective anchorage and foundation elements.
  • Coordinate structural design requirements w/ A&E Project Managers, Drafters, Senior Engineers, Clients, Building Officials, Contractors and other Consultants.
  • Prepare engineering reports and documents communicating engineering results (to include drafter coordination/review).
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of structural calculations and drawings.
  • Executes structural observation of installed structural elements in the field.
  • Assists with construction administration activities to include field surveys, and shop drawing or RFI coordination.
  • Provides mentorship and facilitates the professional development of junior engineering staff.
  • Coordination with building officials and other jurisdictional entities, by demonstrating code compliance for the purpose of obtaining all required building permits and governmental approvals.
  • Participates in project task identification and scoping coordination with A&E Project Managers.
  • May assume responsibilities as engineer of record for projects and provide sealed documents and all required direction for scope of work.
  • Management of Design Team (lead and direct subordinate engineering staff and/or drafters).
  • Minimal field verification or collection of data, structural mapping of existing structural and non-structural elements.
  • Position is fully remote with competitive salary based on experience.

Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of structural engineering experience, wireless industry experienced preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering, from an ABET-accredited University.
  • P.E. license with ability to obtain multi state licensure as required.
  • S.E. License preferred but not required.
  • Microsoft Office applications.
  • Technical communications and documentation skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a group, utilizing resources as required to successfully complete engineering tasks.
  • Code and specifications: IBC, TIA-222, ASCE 7.
  • Material experience: steel and concrete (masonry, timber, CFS desirable).
  • Software: Knowledge in the following common engineering software programs: tnxTower, Risa 3D, and Enercalc.
  • Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures with structural analysis, design and construction (wireless and non-wireless).
  • Experience with performing Mount Analyses and Structural Analyses or Assessments for towers, tanks, buildings, etc. is preferred.
