Job description
The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Custodian to support a customer out of Maui, Hawai'i . This position will be located primarily at the summit, likely 80/20 at summit and in town. The candidate selected will be responsible for maintaining all spaces within the buildings to the standards as outlined in the Performance Work statement (PWS). This is to include all office, common, open, conference, hallways, washrooms, and warehouse or commercial establishment. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, organizes work to meet all requirements and standards as outlined in the (PWS). Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and related fixtures including drinking fountains, refrigerators, custodial mop sinks, restroom sinks, urinals, toilets, and replenishes supplies in restrooms. Sweeps, vacuums, mops, waxes, strips, polishes all tile and solid surface flooring. Vacuums and steam clean all carpeted areas to include spot cleaning of incidental spills Dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork and fixtures. Washes/cleans interior windows, mirrors, and walls. Empties, cleans, and sanitizes and installs new plastic liners in all waste receptacles. Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; sets up rooms for conferences and meetings. Dusts and cleans all windowsills, shades, and blinds. Adjust shades and blinds, as necessary. Dusts and spot clean all fingerprints on doors as required. Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities. Performs specialized projects such as restoration program on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items. Maintains inventory of all cleaning supplies and initiates a purchase requisition, as required. Performs other related work duties as assigned. Environmental Factors: Works in indoor and outdoor environments that contain excessive heat, cold and humidity, dampness, dust, and slippery or uneven surfaces. Physical Effort: Frequently lifts items and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds. Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and stretching for prolonged periods will be necessary. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Ability to use small and portable hand and power tools. Ability to operate proficiently floor scrubbers and polishers. Ability to operate proficiently commercial carpet cleaning equipment. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to work with little or no supervision. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to multi-task. Ability to speak, read and write English. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of custodial (Janitor) experience. Must be available and able to respond to emergency call-ins when required. Assigned other additional duties as required. REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
